Sofia Margarita Vergara (Spanish: Born on 10th July 1972) is a Colombian American actress, television producer, presenter and model. Vergara was the highest paid actress on American television between 2013 until 2020.Vergara was a star when she began hosting two television shows for Spanish-language television network Univision in the mid-90s. Chasing Papi (2003) was her first significant acting role in English. Later, she was seen in Four Brothers (2006) and Tyler Perry's comedy Come To Jail (2008). She was nominated for an ALMA Award for the former. In 2009, she started as Gloria Delgado in the ABC comedy series Modern Family for which she was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and eleven Screen Actors Guild Awards.Vergara has also had roles in the films The Smurfs (2011), New Year's Eve (2011), The Three Stooges (2012), Machete Kills (2013), Fading Gigolo (2013) Chef (2014) as well as Hot Pursuit (2015). Her voice-over roles included Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also in The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was also the highest-paid Hollywood actress in 2020[citation requiredfor 2020[citation needed]. Vergara is America's Got Talent judge since 2020. Vergara was born to an Roman Catholic family in Barranquilla. [8] Vergara's mother Margarita Vergara Devergara was a housewife while her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo worked as a cattle rancher in the meat industry.
