Ayelet Zurer
Ayelet Zurer is among Israel's most
well-known actresses. She was born in Tel Aviv and was first recognized by
Hollywood when Steven Spielberg cast her in her first role in English as Eric
Bana's wife in Munich (2005). Since moving to the United States, Zurer has been
in Studio films such as Sony Pictures' Vantage Point featuring Dennis Quaid and
William Hurt and Samuel Goldwyn's Fugitive Pieces with Stephen Dillane, Paul
Schrader's Adam Resurrected opposite Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe. Ron
Howard's Angeles and Demons, opposite Tom Hanks, Darling Companion, a Lawrence
Kasdan ensemble cast featuring Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline and Warner Bros. Man
Of Steel with Russell Crow. Ewan McGregor directed Rodrigo Garcia, Last Days in
the Desert. She has been waiting for the release date of The Last Knights, a
film directed by Kazuaki Kiriya. She is starring alongside Clive Owen. For her
role as Hostages leading actress, she won the Gold Nymph Award at the 54th
Festival of Television in Monte-Carlo. Ayelet was nominated for the Israeli
Film and Television Academy Award for her performance in Nina's Tragedies. She
was nominated for her roles in the movies Only Dogs Run Free (from the Holy
Apple Field), Desperado, Rutenberg, and The Dybuk from Holy Apple Field. She also
won the Haifa International Film Festival critic award and also with a star on
Haifa's "film boulevard" for her achievements in the local and
international arenas. Zurer received the Israeli Television Academy Award, due
to her performance in "In Treatment" which was a highly loved series
of TV that was adapted to American television by HBO. She was also nominated as
the most apt role in 2014's top drama "Shtisel" as well as she was
named the most outstanding actress for drama for her role as a brilliant doctor
facing the dilemma of life and death in Hostages. The show was licensed to BBC4
and Canal Plus and the American ABC. The "face " of one of Israel's
top women's clothing companies- Golbary. She is a writer, producer,
illustrator, and a co-author on "Shorts", the first adult book
written by Gabi Nitazn. Ayelet is currently working on few of her own projects
in Israel and the US, expressing her desire to work internationally with
directors from across the globe she believes in joining with new writers/directors
as well as known ones.
