Naomi Watts

Watts (born 28 September 1968) is an British actress. Following the move of her
family to Australia Watts made her film debut there in For Love Alone (1986).
Then she appeared in three TV series: Hey Dad.. (1990) and Brides of
Christ(91), and Home and Away (91) and Flirting (1991). After making the move
to the United States, Watts initially struggled as an actress, performing in
small-scale movies until she made her debut in David Lynch's psychological
thriller Mulholland Drive in 2001 as an aspiring actress. This film helped
propel her to international prominence. Watts was later in the role of a
tortured journalist in The Ring (2002). In her role as grieving mother in
Alejandro film 21 Grams, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best
Actress. Her fame grew through her starring roles in I Heart Huckabees (2004),
King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009). Watts
was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in The
Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. She was in films like Birdman (2014) St.
Vincent (2014) and While We're Young (2015). Watts continued her acting career
with major roles in blockbusters, including Divergent (2015-2016).
