Tur, born on the 26th of October, 1983 in America is a journalist for broadcast
and writer who is an anchor at NBC News. Tur anchors MSNBC Reports. From 2021,
she has hosted Katy Tur Reports. The show airs every day between 2:00 and 3:00
pm ET on MSNBC. Tur also covers the news channels of NBC, including Early
Today, Today and MSNBC Nightly News. Tur is the daughter and grandaughter of
journalist Zoey Tur, Marika Gerrard. She graduated with a bachelor of studies
in philosophy at Brentwood School (2001), and an undergraduate degree at the
University of California Santa Barbara (2005). The woman is Jewish. Tur was
employed by KTLA as well as HD News/Cablevision as well as News 12 Brooklyn,
WPIX-TV and Fox 5 New York. Tur was later employed as an official storm chaser
for the Weather Channel's VORTEX2 team. Tur started her career at the NBC's New
York City station, WNBC-TV in 2009, and climbed to the highest position within
NBC News' national network. Tur was awarded the award from the AP's Best Spot
News Award that year for her reporting of the collapse of a crane in
Manhattan's Upper East Side in March 2008. She also covered the death of Cory
Monteith as well as a motorbike attack on an SUV, and the search for Malaysia Airlines
Flight 370. Tur was a reporter embedded at NBC News and MSNBC for Donald
Trump's presidential campaign in 2016.
