Chef Burrell also has worked in some of New York's top restaurants, studied Italian cuisine as well as its traditions. She also competed in Food Network Iron Chef America. Growing up in the state of New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop to take after graduating with the Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communication at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing experience for me. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) and attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. During her time in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian food and culture that left a lasting impact in her perspective. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens the lives of children facing issues and also is a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the US to talk about her passion for cooking as well as her work. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could share her true passion with other people.
